Built by Viking in 2006, Scandaloso is a 17.06-metre convertible motor yacht that combines serious offshore fishing capability with comfortable onboard cruising. Based on Viking's proven 56 Convertible platform, she offers a well-balanced layout accommodating up to three cabins and staterooms, making her equally suited for extended time on the water as for dedicated sportfishing.
Scandaloso has been meticulously maintained and benefits from an extensive list of upgrades carried out between 2020 and 2024. A full paint job and new teak deck were completed in 2020, along with a custom tuna tube system, updated Garmin electronics, and a mezzanine. Subsequent work has been systematic and thorough: turbos, engine hoses, oil pan gaskets, water pumps, and a Furuno Omni Sonar were added in September 2022. January 2023 saw the installation of Krypto Quiet bearings, a new flybridge enclosure, a Seatronix SRT 17" sonar display, JL Audio speakers and amplifiers, and a Fusion Apollo stereo head unit. Engine mounts and alignment were addressed in March 2023, followed by an oil change pump in April 2023 and Starlink satellite connectivity in August 2023. October 2023 brought Newmar battery chargers and Comrod 23' VHF antennas, with prop tuning completed in January 2024. Further 2024 updates include a Garmin GHC 50 autopilot, engine alignment, two ICOM M510 VHF radios, a new port alternator, AC controller replacements, and a full service of both the watermaker and AC system. New batteries were installed in November 2024.
Scandaloso is a strong option for buyers seeking a turnkey sportfishing vessel with a proven track record on the water. Her comprehensive upgrade history, current equipment specification, and readiness for immediate operation make her particularly well suited to experienced fishing enthusiasts or owner-operators looking to purchase a well-prepared, go-anywhere offshore platform without the uncertainty of deferred maintenance.
