Built by Baglietto in 1924, VEGA is a 14.9-metre classic sailing yacht competing in the 8 Metre S.I. class. Named after the brightest star in the constellation of Lyra, she carries a century of history on the water and stands as one of the fastest sailboats of her circuit. Her vintage origins and pedigree make her a genuinely rare example of early 20th-century Italian yacht building.
VEGA has been successfully competing since 1925, racing all around Italy, and her recent record includes podium results at the Prada Trophy in Cannes and the Panerai Trophy. Her current owner undertook a complete restoration between 2000 and 2004, bringing her back to full racing condition. She is rigged exclusively for regattas, fitted with no engine, and equipped with the best sails and accessories available for her class.
VEGA is ideally suited to a buyer with a passion for classic yacht racing and maritime heritage. She is a dedicated racing vessel, not a cruising yacht, and will appeal to an experienced sailor looking to compete in prestigious classic regattas or to preserve and race a significant piece of sailing history. Her documented racing career and careful restoration make her a compelling proposition for the discerning collector or competitive classic racer.
