2020 JEANNEAU Sun Odyssey 490 Compare

Built by Jeanneau in 2020, Bellatrix is a 14.42-metre sailing yacht based on the Sun Odyssey 490 model, offering a well-balanced combination of comfort, ease of handling, and practical layout for extended Mediterranean cruising. She is currently ashore in Preveza, Greece, and presented in excellent condition, offered ex-VAT under Greek NEPA commercial registration, with a transferable berth in Volos available at €1,200 per year.

One of the most distinctive features of this yacht is her walkaround deck design, with gently sloping side decks that allow safe, step-free movement from cockpit to bow without climbing over coamings. The wide flush cockpit is equipped with twin helms and coamings that convert into generous sunbeds, while a large fold-down bathing platform provides easy access to the water. Below deck, four double cabins each benefit from their own ensuite heads, and the bright saloon with its centrally positioned U-shaped galley offers a comfortable and well-organised living space. The electrical setup is a notable asset: a domestic battery bank of 6 × 150Ah (renewed in 2024), 150W solar panels integrated into the bimini, and an 1,800W inverter provide strong autonomy for extended stays at anchor.

Bellatrix is well suited to a non-EU couple or buyer looking for a capable, easy-to-manage cruising yacht with genuine liveaboard comfort. Her four-cabin, four-heads layout also makes her a strong candidate for seasonal charter use under her existing commercial registration, offering the possibility of generating income during the season. Whether the goal is private Mediterranean cruising, extended time at anchor in the Ionian, or a combination of personal use and charter, this yacht offers a practical and ready-to-go platform without unnecessary complexity.
