2008 PALMER JOHNSON 124 Sports Cruiser Compare

Built by Palmer Johnson in 2008, Izumi is a 36.57-metre motor yacht based on the iconic 124 Sports Cruiser model. Designed by the renowned Nuvolari & Leonard studio from Venice, Italy, and constructed at the Palmer Johnson shipyard in Wisconsin, she presents a distinctive sports cruiser profile that has consistently stood apart from her contemporaries. Her styling remains as relevant today as it did at launch, and she is noted as a design that many have attempted to replicate without success.

Izumi accommodates guests across 7 cabins, offering a generous layout for extended cruising with family or friends. As an American-built vessel, she is not subject to EU import duties, making her a straightforward option for buyers based in Europe or those planning to cruise the Mediterranean without the administrative and financial burden of customs tariffs. In 2022–2023, the yacht underwent a comprehensive programme of updates and maintenance aimed at ensuring reliable, trouble-free operation for years ahead — full details of these updates are available in the technical specifications.

Izumi is well suited to buyers seeking a privately owned sports cruiser with strong visual identity, meaningful onboard volume across 7 staterooms, and the reassurance of recent maintenance work. Her EU duty-paid status is a practical advantage for any buyer intending to keep the yacht in European waters, removing a common and often costly step from the purchase process. She appeals equally to those looking for a statement yacht with timeless design and to those prioritising a well-maintained, ready-to-cruise vessel.
