2005 BENETEAU Oceanis Clipper 523 Confronta

Built by Beneteau in 2005, Carina is a 16.15-metre sailing yacht based on the Oceanis Clipper 523 model, offering a well-regarded layout across four cabins and a spacious interior suited to extended offshore sailing. She represents one of the more capable bluewater cruisers in her class, combining generous deck space with a practical and liveable saloon arrangement.

Carina has benefited from an extensive and well-documented programme of work carried out in 2023. In April of that year, the hull received a complete bottom job back to gelcoat with a full professional paint system, the rudder was dropped and new bearings fitted, the prop shaft bearing was replaced and a full propeller service completed. A new watermaker was installed, a new Paguro 6.5 kW generator was fitted, and custom stainless steel high-level davits with 1.2 kW solar panels were added. The package also includes a new 3.4-metre Highfield Classic dinghy with a new 15 HP Honda four-stroke outboard. In November 2023, a new mainsail and new heavy-duty staysail/storm jib were fitted, rigging was surveyed and overhauled, and a new Selden spinnaker pole and system were installed. Navigation and comfort upgrades included a new Raymarine autopilot, a new Raymarine MFD at the starboard helm pod, two new refrigerator/freezers, and a completed 1,000-hour Yanmar engine overhaul.

Carina is particularly well suited to buyers looking for a ready-to-go bluewater cruising yacht with a strong focus on safety and self-sufficiency. The combination of a recently overhauled engine, new sails, new rigging components, onboard power generation and watermaking capability makes her a practical choice for extended passages or liveaboard use. She is currently located in Grenada, positioning her conveniently for Caribbean cruising or an onward Atlantic passage.
