2008 HATTERAS Comparar

Built by Hatteras in 2008, REEL TEXAN is a 20.72-metre motor yacht offering a well-rounded combination of performance, volume and practicality. As the latest model 68 Open Bridge Convertible in her class, she stands out for her exceptional beam of 21'6'', which translates directly into generous interior and cockpit spaces rarely found at this length. With 4 staterooms and 4 heads, including a full-beam master stateroom, she is well suited to extended private cruising in genuine comfort.

REEL TEXAN presents a strong maintenance and refit history. Originally kept undercover in a boathouse for much of her early life, she received a comprehensive 2019 renovation covering new paint, interior, electronics, fighting chair, rocket launcher, riggers, and the installation of two Seakeeper stabilizers. Her Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines — rated at 1,800 hp each — show only 2,670 original hours at an average load factor of 22%, making her one of the lowest-hours examples of this model currently available. Twin Onan 27.5 kW generators ensure reliable power aboard. More recent upgrades include a new teak cockpit (2023), a new 2,000 lb Nautical Structures davit (2023), upgraded Garmin electronics, Starlink connectivity, new mattresses, new TVs, and recently replaced air conditioning compressors and refrigeration units. Equipment also includes a bow thruster, watermaker, ice chipper, and 5'4'' draft prop pockets with 8-bladed propellers. Fuel capacity stands at 2,100 gallons of diesel and 400 gallons of water. The high-gloss cherry wood interior completes a well-appointed package.

REEL TEXAN is well suited to a buyer looking for a capable, privately used sportfishing convertible with documented low hours and a clear maintenance record. She has been maintained by a full-time captain, has never been chartered, and has seen only private use — factors that typically reflect well on her overall condition. Currently located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she is easy to visit and described as seriously for sale.
