1972 DITMAR DONALDSON Motoryacht Compare

Built by Ditmar Donaldson in 1972, Sapphire Sea II is a 26.36-metre classic motor yacht that combines the character and proportions of traditional yacht building with the comfort and reliability expected by today's owners. Over the past decade, she has undergone a comprehensive refit costing over $1,000,000, blending her original design with updated systems, modern electronics, and refreshed interior spaces. The result is a vessel that retains its heritage appeal while being fully prepared for contemporary cruising.

Sapphire Sea II offers a spacious and well-organised layout across five cabins, including three large guest cabins each with dedicated en-suite heads, as well as two crew cabins and a dedicated crew work station. The main deck features a large salon and dining area, providing generous communal space for guests and entertaining. The galley has been updated with new woodwork and quality appliances. Power comes from twin Caterpillar D343A engines producing 550 hp each, supported by three Northern Lights generators — two of 30 kW and one of 20 kW — ensuring reliable energy capacity onboard. Navigation has been brought fully up to date with a new Garmin electronics suite. The yacht is held under LLC ownership.

Sapphire Sea II is well suited to buyers looking for a classic motor yacht with genuine character and significant volumes, without compromising on modern reliability. The extensive refit makes her a realistic choice for an owner who appreciates traditional aesthetics but wants a vessel with updated mechanical and technical systems already in place. Her five-cabin layout, including dedicated crew quarters, makes her equally appropriate for private extended cruising or owner-operated use with professional crew.
