1956 HENRY HINCKLEY Compare

Built by Henry Hinckley in 1956, Windigo is a 22.25-metre sailing yacht designed by Sparkman & Stephens. This classic ocean racer offers a balanced combination of heritage, performance and proven seaworthiness, representing a significant chapter in American yacht-building tradition.

Windigo features three cabins for comfortable cruising and overnight accommodation. The yacht benefits from comprehensive restoration work completed in 2004 by specialist craftsmen, which included installation of a new Yanmar 200 engine, new masts, standing and running rigging, and a new teak deck laid on quality plywood. All interior systems were carefully restored and new hydraulic-electric systems installed throughout. A further major restoration in 2013 involved complete replacement of the mahogany hull planking with thorough inspection and restoration of frames and floors, with all fastening completed in silicon bronze screws. The yacht is well-maintained and ready for use.

Windigo suits buyers interested in classic sailing yachts with proven racing pedigree and substantial restoration history. The yacht's documented competition success following restoration—including class wins and overall placings in established Mediterranean racing events—demonstrates both her performance capability and the quality of the work invested in her condition.
