2011 J CRAFT Torpedo R 42 Compare

Built by J Craft in 2011, Temptation is a 13-metre motor vessel based on the Torpedo R 42 model. Handcrafted on Sweden's Gotland island, her vacuum-infused GRP hull is finished with book-matched West African mahogany veneers and twenty coats of varnish, a construction process requiring over 8,000 man-hours per hull. She has been in single-owner hands since new, is EU VAT paid, and is described as ready for the season with excellent maintenance history.

Temptation is powered by upgraded twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 pod drives with joystick control, offering rudderless manoeuvrability and effortless docking. She is capable of reaching 42 knots with a cruising range of approximately 280 nautical miles, and the IPS propulsion system delivers improved fuel efficiency compared to conventional shaft drives. On deck, she accommodates over eight guests in seating, while below she offers a forward cabin sleeping up to four, a wet head, and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, sink, and induction hob.

Temptation is particularly well suited to buyers looking for a high-performance day boat with genuine overnight capability. Her classic wooden aesthetic combined with a low-maintenance composite hull makes her an appealing proposition for those who appreciate traditional craftsmanship without the upkeep demands of an all-timber vessel. Her proven performance across the Baltic, North Sea, and Mediterranean makes her equally at home in coastal cruising as in more open-water passages.
