1962 BERTRAM 31 Express Cruiser Compare

Built by Bertram in 1962, Joy Ride is a 9.44 m express cruiser that offers a balanced combination of comfort, usability and presence on the water. This classic model has been completely rebuilt through 2025 into 2026, with everything except the hull structure replaced or renewed.

Joy Ride is powered by twin 350 hp Yamaha outboard engines with digital electric steering mounted on a bracket, supported by a Seakeeper DC powered gyro stabilizer for enhanced stability. The vessel features new 400-gallon fuel tanks, a bow thruster, windlass, and comprehensive Garmin electronics for navigation. Onboard amenities include one cabin, custom blue water teak helm and companion chairs, a custom hardtop with weather enclosure, 12V cabin air-conditioning, an inverter system for 110V appliances, and a transom live well with refrigerated drink box. The motors carry a five-year warranty, and virtually all systems and equipment are unused.

This rebuild was executed by a retired boat builder with extensive experience refitting Bertram 31 Express Cruisers, making Joy Ride well-suited for buyers seeking a classic design with modern systems and reliability. The comprehensive renewal and professional workmanship provide confidence in the vessel's condition and performance for private cruising and coastal exploration.
