Built by Pendennis in 2009, STEEL is a 54.9-metre motor yacht that offers a balanced combination of exploration capability, sophisticated comfort and proven oceangoing performance. Her ice-classed steel hull, constructed with 3 cm thickness, enables her to navigate through up to 80 cm of ice, delivering genuine long-range expedition credentials. Fully repainted in 2025 and meticulously maintained throughout her life, she presents a vessel of uncompromising strength and enduring elegance.
STEEL accommodates 12 guests across 7 cabins—comprising a master suite, two VIP cabins, and four twin cabins with additional bunk beds—along with quarters for up to 12 crew in 6 dedicated cabins. Her interior, designed by Liebowitz & Partners, reflects a timeless English gentlemen's club aesthetic. Powered by twin CAT 3512B engines delivering 2 × 1100 HP, she achieves a cruising speed of 10 knots with a range of 10,000 nautical miles. Key systems include Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers, comprehensive navigation and communication equipment, and integrated entertainment featuring LG OLED televisions, Yamaha amplifiers and Apple TV 4K media players throughout principal spaces.
Operational features distinguish STEEL as an expedition platform with luxury credentials. A diesel-heated endless pool with artificial current, bow-mounted dolphin observation basket, wine cellar accommodating 600 bottles with adjoining cigar bar, and expedition-grade galley with walk-in refrigerator reflect her design philosophy. Discreet speakeasy-style spaces provide intimate gathering areas. This combination of ice-class capability, extensive range and refined onboard amenities positions STEEL for owners seeking serious long-distance cruising with full comfort and operational flexibility.
