2010 SOUTHERLY YACHTS 57 RS Confronta

Built by Southerly Yachts in 2010, Soul Kitchen is a 17.72-metre sailing yacht based on the 57RS model, designed by Ed Dubois in collaboration with the Southerly Yachts design team. She was conceived as a capable and elegant world cruising yacht that can be comfortably managed by a crew of two, combining powerful sailing performance with the flexibility needed for extended offshore passages and coastal exploration.

One of Soul Kitchen's most distinctive technical features is her variable draft swing keel, which offers a deep draft of approximately 3.20 metres for strong upwind performance and directional stability, and a shallow draft of just over one metre for accessing anchorages and inland waterways that would otherwise be out of reach. Her deck equipment is comprehensive: twin wheels, twin rudders, a Seldén carbon fibre mast with rod rigging, a FurlerBoom electric mainsail furling system, two electrically furled headsails, a retractable bowsprit, and electric cockpit winches. Below decks, the interior features high-quality teak joinery and generous natural light throughout, with a raised saloon, a raised navigation station, a full galley, a breakfast nook, three cabins and two heads. Recent work includes the installation of a new 150 HP Yanmar engine and a complete bottom treatment with soda blasting, re-caulking of the grounding plate and the application of Coppercoat antifouling paint.

Soul Kitchen is well suited to buyers seeking a serious blue-water sailing yacht that combines offshore capability with the practical ability to explore shallow-draft destinations. Her two-handed cruising design, robust build at Northshore Shipyard in Itchenor, West Sussex, and recent mechanical and hull updates make her a credible choice for couples or small crews planning extended ocean passages or coastal cruising.
